The purpose of a public notice is to communicate certain information to citizens about their Municipality
Among the information to be communicated are decisions made by the council or those to come. They can also be used to announce a new bylaw, a council meeting, the filing of the audit roll, municipal elections, calls for tenders, and the approval of applications for minor exemptions in urban planning. Public notices therefore primarily fulfil the objectives of transparency and dissemination of information to citizens
Since May 2018, the publication of a public notice is done by posting a copy of the notice on the bulletin board located in the lobby of the Messines, Multicultural Centre, 70 Rue Principale, Messines, Québec, J0X 2J0, as well as on the Municipality’s website
This new procedure for the publication of public notices follows Bylaw No. 2018-348 on the procedures for the publication of public notices. This Bylaw was adopted at the special meeting held on May 16, 2018.
