The Planning Advisory Committee is a committee mandated by the Municipal Council to give advice on requests submitted to it in matters of urban planning and development of the territory such as
- Application for a minor variance from the zoning by-law or the subdivision by-law
- Application for a modification to the development plan or for authorization of a use or a particular construction, modification or occupancy project of a building.
- Commercial, tourist and recreational development
- Protection and enhancement of natural environments
The Planning Advisory Committee is a working group composed of at least one member of City Council and residents selected by Council to provide guidance, direction and support on planning matters. The recommentations and advice of the Planning Advisory Committee allow Council to benefit from the input of elected officials and citizens in land use planning.
Although the Planning Advisory Committee is fundamentally an advisory body and not a decision-making body, it plays an undeniable role in the planning and administration of the municipal territory.
The members of the Planning Advisory Committee are:
