The Municipality of Messines, like any other municipality in Québec, must comply with the Municipal Code of Québec with respect to its budget process and cycle.

Every year, the municipal council is required to prepare and present a balanced budget at a special meeting. It is through this financial exercise that the general administration succeeds in managing the Municipality’s public funds in a rigorous and responsible manner while ensuring the quality of services offered to its citizens, and this at the lowest cost possible

At the special meeting held on december 18th, 2023, the mayor Mr. Ronald Cross, tabled the 2024 budget estimates of $3,559,601
